Sadbh’s night went well and she managed to keep her
trach cap on for most of the night. It came off a couple of times when she
struggled to breathe but all in all she did good, although she was really not
happy about the entire situation. It will take 4-6 weeks to pull the results
together and we have scheduled a follow up appointment with Dr. Inglis to go
over those results in mid-May.
When she was awakened at 6am, Sadbh had hot coco,
graham crackers and she got a prize from the amazing sleep study crew. She could
not wait to get home once she woke up but it took a while for the technician to
remove all the sensors and tape.
Sadbh and Katie arrived home shortly after seven and
they both looked completely exhausted. Sadbh still had the residue from the
tape all over her skin and hair so after breakfast we gave her a nice bath. The
tape residue was difficult to remove but eventually we got her all cleaned up
and ready for trach care.
Trach care was much easier today and once we were
done we got ready to head over to Sarah, Gerry and Dylan’s for Easter brunch.
Sadbh was so excited to go see her friends and to go
on the Easter egg hunt.
Despite being completely exhausted she kept going and
managed somehow to keep up with her friends. I’m sure the mountains of sugar
helped.
We all had a wonderful day with our good friends and
when it came time to leave the kids were wiped out.
She fell asleep instantly on the way home but woke up
quite grumpy just before we pulled up to the house. She had misplaced her
Easter basket and was upset that she had not brought it home. Katie and I had
been hoping that she would have forgotten about it but Sadbh has a memory like
an elephant so we were out of luck.
Bedtime was a little later than usual but we all
headed off to bed at the same time.
It’s nice not having nurses.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian
