Sadbh’s update – day 208

Sadbh had a fairly decent nights sleep on Friday, but she did wake up a few times throughout the night. Needless to say, when she woke up Saturday morning she was ready for fun.

Since her cot is at the foot of our bed, and it’s slightly lower than the top of our bed, I noticed that she was popping her head up so she could see us.
She always has a huge smile on her face when she sees us and for us it’s possibly the best way to start the day.

We have noticed that she is starting to wiggle her way out of her swaddle, which is going to make it hard to keep her tiny hands off of all the cords and hoses that she needs when sleeping.
That said, it’s very cute to see her flirt away while trying to sneak her arm out as if we can’t see what she is doing.

After a good feed and some playtime in bed, she discovered Katie’s iPad and was instantly amazed. We showed her the blog and afterwards we showed her an app for baby sign. Her face lit up and you could tell that she was absorbing everything.

When it was time for her morning nap, Katie and my father managed trach care and afterwards she slept for an hour or so allowing us to have breakfast.

The car show is on in Seattle this weekend, and since Katie is thinking of getting a bigger car, we decided to check the show out.
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we received a surprise visit from Clodagh, Cormac and Suzie.

At the car show, Sadbh did not seem too impressed with what was on display and despite her granddad posing in front of the Lamborghini and almost getting kicked out of the show, she soon fell asleep.

The show was packed full and there were a lot of coughing kids. I think we must have gone through a whole bottle of hand sanitizer between the four of us by the time we left.

Sadbh was an angel the whole time we were at the show and we were very lucky that she only needed suctioning once throughout.

Afterwards, we headed to Jak’s in West Seattle for dinner and again Sadbh was fantastic. She had some playtime while the orders were taken, and soon afterwards she was ready for her nap. She slept throughout dinner and as soon as we were finishing up, she woke up and it was time for her dinner.

It was still quite early by the time we got home, so Sadbh got some tummy time in and got to play in the basement.
Later on, she fell into a nice deep sleep in Katie’s arms.

All the best,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
