Sadbh did not sleep well last
night and had a temper tantrum around 12:30. Katie had a serious effort to get
her calmed down. She was back in
her bed then until around 4:30 when she joined us in bed.
A few hours later she needed to
be suctioned as it sounded like her airway was dry and she gave us the biggest
smile.
She was still restless for the
rest of the night but did manage to sleep until after 6am.
We had one cranky little kid on
our hands when she woke up and it took several hours to get her into a good
mood.
For breakfast Katie gave her a
bowl of cereal with milk and despite not being able to feed herself with the
spoon, she loved it. It seems that the spoon was a little to long for her.
Nadia was working today so as
soon as Sadbh was ready, they tried out the Passy Muir Valve. It was not very
comfortable for Sadbh and she kept pulling it off.
Her mood improved as the day
went on and eventually it was time for her nap and trach care.
Since Nini only has another
couple of weeks looking after Sadbh, it was time for Nadia to get used to
cleaning while Nini held the trach in place. Everything went well and Sadbh slept
for another hour or so.
Afterwards it was time for
lunch and a walk through the neighborhood with Nadia.
Nadia tried the PMV again and
this time Sadbh tolerated it for over three hours. She made so many sounds and
said hi to everyone she passed.
She had a great evening and
could not get enough of Katie.
When it came time for bed she
worked herself up into a frenzy and we had a tough time getting her settled.
Since she only had one nap today it was obvious that she was overly tired and
needed to get to sleep quickly.
