Sadbh’s update – October 20 2015
Sadbh was feeling a little better this morning so we
decided to send her off to school. She had a great time with her class mates
and was completely exhausted when I picked her up.
Once home I checked out the dressing over her stoma
and it was very goopy. It did not take long to clean everything up and
immediately Sadbh felt a lot more comfortable.
Despite being very tired Sadbh had a great evening
but was fast asleep long before her usual bedtime.

Sadbh’s update – October 19 2015
Sadbh slept well and joined us in bed sometime around
5am.
She’s been feeling much better but we decided to keep
her home from school today since she has a very runny nose. Unfortunately for
Sadbh, it is not her nose that is running, it’s the hole in her neck that is
running and this morning alone we had to do stoma care numerous times. It was
very uncomfortable for Sadbh and we felt it was best if she stayed home so I
could care for her.
She had a great day overall and we even did some home
schooling so she could keep up with her friends at school.
By bedtime she was exhausted and ready for bed.
Cillian was already out for the count and Sadbh not far behind.

Sadbh’s update – October 16 2015
Sadbh had a much better night and was healthy enough to go to
school this morning.
She had an excellent day at school and despite being tired when she arrived home she
still had so much energy. The rest of the evening was spent having fun with Cillian and myself and thankfully she
was out cold within a couple of minutes of going to bed.

Sadbh’s update – October 15 2015
Sadbh slept in our room last night and at one stage
she had a tough time breathing. It seemed that she could not clear the
secretions from her airway and she struggled to breathe until I got her sitting
in an upright position.
Her fever peaked a few times through the night so we
decided to keep her home from school today.
She had a very relaxing day and had a couple of naps
as she fought this bug. Her fever hit a couple of times and each time she was
burning up. Thankfully the meds helped and each time she fell into a deep
sleep.
I had to hook her up to her oximeter as she was
breathing very hard but thankfully her blood oxygen level never dipped below
98%.
By 3PM she was in a great mood and had so much
energy. She made up for all the napping through the early part of the day and
it was hard for Cillian and I to keep up.
By bedtime she was starting to get hot again so we
gave her some more meds before putting her to bed. I hope she can kick it
tonight so she can be back in action for the weekend.

Sadbh’s update – October 14 2015
The past few weeks have been very exciting for Sadbh.
She started pre-school and straight away she made a few new friends.
Last week her teachers suggested that she should move
into the pre-K class as they thought that she was ready to advance.
Sadbh did not want to go at first since she would
miss her friends however once she checked the class out last Friday she did not
want to return to her old class.
We had a fun weekend away in Lake Chelan with a
couple of close friends and Sadbh had a wonderful time with Clodagh, Cormac and
Dylan. Even Cillian had a great time hanging out with everyone. In fact, Dylan
named him King of the babies.
Sadbh woke up with a sore throat this morning but was
feeling well enough to go to school. Since she did not have a temperature we
decided to send her to school.
She had a great day but got very upset at the end of
class. Her teacher, Miss Andrea, took excellent care of her and comforted her
until I came to pick her up. Apparently she missed me and wanted me to come
take her home.
Once I picked her up I could tell that something was
wrong and after a quick snuggle and then placing her in her car seat she was
fast asleep.
She had a slight temperature and snoozed on and off
all afternoon. She is definitely fighting something and hopefully she will beat
it quickly.
Cillian was happy to have his sister home from school
but was soon very frustrated not to have someone other than me to play with.
