Sadbh’s update – December 17 2016
Sadbh slept great and woke
up in a good mood. The steroids definitely helped and it seems that she is on
the mend from her cold.
Sadbh and Cillian got to
attend a pantomime today with a few of their friends. Sadbh and Ellie Bea had
so much fun and even got on stage and made donkey sounds. It was hilarious and
despite Sadbh’s quiet voice we were able to hear her without any problem.
Bedtime was easy since she
was completely exhausted. We gave her a dose of steroids beforehand to help
keep her airway open enough so she could have a good night sleep.

Sadbh’s update – December 16 2016
Sadbh had a much better
night thanks to the steroids. She woke up in a good mood and wanted to go to
school.
School got out an hour early
today due to the start of the holidays and when I went to pick her up she was
very upset. She had lost her hat and she could not stop crying. It was obvious
that she was completely exhausted and after I got her home and fed her some
lunch she napped for two and a half hours.
Sadbh was in a much better
mood after she woke up and she even wanted to do some homework. That is a
first!
The rest of the day was good
and at bedtime we gave her a dose of steroids as we could hear her stridor
getting more noticeable as the evening went on.
Unfortunately her brother
has not caught her cold but thankfully he doesn’t have an airway issue so he
should be fine.

Sadbh’s update – December 15 2016
Sadbh had a very rough night
and there were a number of times where her chest was retracting due working so
hard to breathe.
We gave her a dose of her
steroids shortly after 3am and an hour or so later she calmed down and had a
more restful night sleep.
We decided to keep her home
from school today and despite feeling under the weather she had a fairly good
day. Her breathing was better but we figured it would be best to give her a
dose of steroids before going to bed to help reduce any breathing issues.

Sadbh’s update – December 14 2016
Sadbh has been having a tough time breathing the past couple of nights so she's been sleeping in our bed so we can keep a close eye on her.
Her temperature, blood oxygen levels and heart rate have all been normal but it is obvious that she is fighting something since she is working so hard to breathe.
Today I received a call from the school nurse explaining that Sadbh was not feeling well and wanted to go home. Again her sats were all fine and she was not in any danger.
She was very tired, but typical Sadbh, she refused to relax and spent the rest of the day playing and having as much fun as possible.
Even at bedtime she had to show off her Irish dancing skills for a guest that we had visit and she would not have stopped if she had her way.
We gave her some medicine before going to bed so hopefully she will have an easier night tonight.
