Sadbh’s school nurse called
us this morning to let us know that Sadbh was having difficulties breathing and
that she had a slight temperature.
I got to the school within a
few minutes of receiving the call and sure enough Sadbh was looking quite ill.
She had regained color in her face but was complaining of a head ache and that
she was cold. Typically she gets headaches due to the difficulty in breathing.
She spent the rest of the
day sleeping on the couch and since it was Halloween we figured it would be
best to cancel our plans for the evening and to stay in where Sadbh could
remain warm and comfortable.
After dinner we decided to
go trick or treating around the house.
The kids got dressed in their costumes and Katie and I took turns
answering different doors throughout the house with a bowl of treats.
This worked great for the
kids and they both had a wonderful time.
Just before going to bed we
received a visit from Chris and Ixchel with a basket of treats. Ixchel and her
friends were sad when they heard that she could not join them, trick or
treating, so at each door they mentioned that their friend could not make it
because she was sick and they collected on her behalf. What a great group of
friends she has.
We gave her some Ibruprofen
before bedtime and we have also made her an appointment with her pediatrician
first thing in the morning, in case we need it.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and
Cillian
