It was another good night for Sadbh. She did wake up once during
the night and after a nice back rub from Julie she fell right back to sleep.
I took over from Julie at 6am when her shift ended and Sadbh
slept on for another 30 minutes.
She was in a really good mood and wanted Katie so I disconnected
her equipment and we both headed upstairs.
As expected, she had no desire to sleep so we tried hard to keep
her in bed. She got to watch some PBS cartoons but eventually got bored of that
so it was time to head downstairs for breakfast.
She had a great morning and wore her trach cap a few times
throughout the morning. She managed to wear it for almost 2 hours overall
throughout the day.
She was very tired when it came time for her nap but she had no
desire to leave her bathtub. After a little bit of a fuss we were able to get
her into a warm towel and dressed for bed. I was leaving the room so Sadbh
wouldn’t be distracted but as I was just about to close the door she shouted
after me and said “daddy, sit!” so I did and she gave me a huge smile.
Trach care was very straightforward and she slept like a log for
an hour and a half. Her neck looked great and the sores from last week appeared
to have healed quite well.
Our friend Jean was performing an acoustic set in a music shop
in Fremont later in the evening so we brought Sadbh with us and she loved it.
Jean played for almost an hour and Sadbh danced and clapped like crazy. She did
get bored a few times, but she did great for a 20 month old.
She had a wonderful day and was quite tired when it came time
for bed. Thankfully Julie is working again tonight so we are sure Sadbh will
get another good night sleep.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
