It was another tough night
and day for Sadbh.
Her fever has not yet broke
and during an afternoon nap she hit 104.4 despite having taking some Ibuprofen
an hour beforehand. She was burning up so I placed a cool damp cloth on her
forehead in the hope to help cool her down.
Katie was able to get
through to Sadbh’s doctor and got us an appointment within the hour. With that
Katie rushed home and by the time she pulled up I had the kids loaded in the
other car and all four of us headed to First Hill to Sadbh’s doctor.
They ran tests to see if it
was the flu and when that came back negative they took an x-ray of her lungs
and this showed some cloudiness that could be an indicator of early stages of
pneumonia.
Dr. Hathaway shared the
x-ray with her team and they concluded that she did not have pneumonia.
The doc believes that she
has a virus and gave us the direction to stay the course for the next 24 hours
and if the fevers persist that we will need to get Sadbh into urgent care or emergency
to have them assess and help out.
By bedtime her temperature
was on the rise and she was shivering and feeling very cold. We gave her some
medicine and snuggled with her until she fell asleep. I hope she has a better
night.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and
Cillian
