Sadbh slept in her cute little glow in the dark skeleton pajamas
last night and woke up at 3:30am just in time to say good-bye to Nini.
Sadbh’s heart rate and temperature were a little higher than
usual and since she was starting to get fussy we got the Tylenol ready just in
case.
Thankfully she dropped back to sleep and her heart rate and
temperature also stabilized.
Sadbh was rearing to go by 8am so it was off downstairs for
breakfast and to catch up on her Baby Signing Time DVD.
Just as Sadbh was finishing up her breakfast both she and Katie
heard the baby gate from the basement open up. They were both surprised to see
Nini coming through the kitchen again.
Nini’s flight was rescheduled for later in the day so Sadbh was
very lucky to get to spend yet another day in her company.
The excitement was incredible and Sadbh had a great time playing
with Nini.
Eventually, she started to get tired so it was time for trach
care. Nini and Katie managed trach
care together and Katie reflected on how confident and calm Nini was as she
cleaned Sadbh’s trach and replaced the trach ties compared to when she first
moved here six months ago.
Sadbh slept for an hour and a half and once she woke up we
bundled her into the car and headed down to the lake to meet with Ali-Baba and
Kirk.
Sadbh had the biggest smile on her face when she arrived at the
lake and she really enjoyed going out on the boat for a couple of hours.
Unfortunately, Sadbh was in a deep sleep in her car seat when it
came time to drive Nini to the airport.
The emotions were very mixed today with Nini’s two departures
and one arrival. Her flight ended up being delayed by over two hours this
evening and it looks like she will miss her connection back to Germany. I hope
it all goes well for her and that she has a safe journey.
Just before bedtime, Sadbh was playing with her stuffed toy dog
and she planted her milk bottle on top of its head. It stayed perfectly placed
the first time, however, each time she tried to place her bottle there
afterwards, it would fall off causing her to keep trying. It was extremely
entertaining and she had a lot of fun with it.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
