Sadbh
slept great but woke up shortly after 6. She quietly lay in her cot for a while
but eventually she wanted to get up. Since it was still quite early I tried to
get her to go back to sleep but the end result was that Sadbh was up and both
of us were very cranky with each other.
After
breakfast, Sadbh, Jenna and I took a trip to Costco to pick up a few things.
Along the way we stopped off to drop something off with Mommy and Sadbh was so
happy to see her. She was in disbelief when Mommy opened the door to give her a
big kiss.
Costco
was busy as usual but we were fortunate to get parking close to the entrance. I
loaded up the stroller with all of Sadbh’s equipment while Jenna got Sadbh’s
jacket and shoes on and got her out of the car. Unfortunately when she went to
close the door she did not keep her eye on Sadbh and hit her with the door
knocking her to the ground.
Poor
Sadbh was in an awful shock but I quickly had her in my arms and was able to
remove her trach cap so she could breathe easily. When she gets upset or very
excited she struggles to breathe with the trach cap on.
Thankfully
Sadbh was not hurt, other than the surprise of it all.
When
we got home we took care of trach care and Sadbh was very cooperative. The early morning got to her and she got
very sleepy.
Rather
than allow her to sleep, which would prove very difficult to get her to bed in
the evening, she had a big lunch and then we headed out to Nora’s Woods for a
walk. It was a beautiful sunny day and she was delighted to be out and about.
By
dinnertime Sadbh was a zombie however she had a huge appetite and kept eating
everything that was put in front of her. She ate twice as much food as I did.
Despite
going to bed almost and hour later than usual, bedtime was very easy. After a nice snuggle with Mommy Sadbh
was fast asleep in no time whatsoever.
All
the best,
Wayne,
Katie and Sadbh.
