Sadbh's update - day 57

We had a long, candid conference call with the nursing agency account rep this evening and he is scrambling to resolve the issue. I'm still shocked at the fact that we seem to have professional baby sitters and not qualified nurses as required. More to come on this over the next few days.

Another record was broken today. Katie and I changed out Sadbh's trach tie and cleaned her neck in 12 minutes flat. Again, the secret is in getting her as comfortable as possible and bundled up very tight.

I'm thinking that Sadbh is experiencing some serious tummy and gas pain and was extremely cranky all day. So much so, Katie gave her a new nickname "Angry Bird". Hopefully her pain and nickname will be very short lived.

Aunty Lydia stopped by for a visit, and Sadbh melted in her arms. She is a natural when it comes to kids. Thanks Lydia!!

Katie clicked on an older batch of photos today and was amazed by the change in Sadbh in just one month.

Talk a look at Sadbh on May 7th, two days before she received the tracheostomy:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/langer-dan/sets/72157626550137983/

What a difference. It is incredible that it only seems like yesterday that she was intubated and on a ventilator. I can't believe how far she's come in just one month.

Take care,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
