Sadbh had yet another
beautiful night and woke up shortly after 7 in the greatest mood. Apart from
the sound of her air compressor running the house is completely silent and we
all have been able to sleep soundly without the usual sounds of living in the
city.
Katie and I occasionally
check on Sadbh during the night to ensure that she is not getting tangled up in
her cords.
Sadbh had a very lazy but
fun day. After breakfast she got stuck into a few of her new books and enjoyed
being read to by Cammy.
Later on she even got to
paint with Nana and she was very careful not to make a big mess.
When it came time for trach
care Sadbh was looking tired and called out to Katie to start trach care. We
were all surprised but we soon realized that she only really wanted to watch
Kipper.
Trach care went well
considering that she was awake throughout but we were disappointed that she did
not want to take a nap even though she was clearly exhausted.
After another round of
playing in the living room Granddad and Nana convinced Sadbh to go for a walk
with them. Ten minutes later she was fast asleep in Granddad’s arms and as soon
as she was out he placed her in the stroller for a more comfortable sleep.
Sadbh was in a great mood
when she arrived home and was full of energy. It was time for dinner and as
soon as she was done she wanted some birthday cake.
I cut off an appropriate
slice for her but she refused that and wanted the rest of the cake for herself.
She loved it and was soon covered in frosting. I’m sure she was buzzing with
all the sugar also.
After dinner she could see
the moon about to disappear behind the hills so she waved and bade it good
night.
She still had a lot of
energy when it came time for bed but was soon fast asleep cuddled up in her
cot.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
