Sadbh slept great and did
not need to be suctioned all night. I took over from Danielle at 6 and by 6:20
Sadbh was coughing up a storm. I suctioned for almost twenty minutes before her
trach started to clear and thankfully Sadbh was smiling the entire time. She
did look panicked at one point but overall she was really helpful.
As soon as we were all
organized we headed upstairs to bed for a nice long snuggle in bed.
We had a lazy day and Sadbh
had a great time playing with her toys. We built a cool fort in the living room
and later on Suzie dropped by with a birthday gift for Sadbh.
Sadbh was so excited that
she started to rip the wrapping paper off as soon as she gave Suzie a hug and
said thank you.
Trach care was easy today as
Sadbh was exhausted and had no problems taking her nap. She did not sleep for
long though as her coughing got bad and she needed some serious suctioning.
Nevertheless, she was happy
to be awake and to be hanging out playing with mommy.
Just before bedtime she
Skyped with her cousins in Portland and had all three of them dancing and
singing along to her favorite songs.
She had a great day but she
was still very goopy and needed a lot of suctioning.
Her next visit with Dr.
Inglis is on Tuesday and we believe this new cold has set her back on her
progress, as we have not been able to properly cap her trach in almost a week.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
