Sadbh's update - day 83

Since Sadbh was in hospital for so long, we decided to throw her a homecoming party on Sunday to celebrate her birth and arrival home.

The day started off hectic getting things prepared, but Sadbh was in a great mood the entire time.
We were able to change out her trach ties earlier in the day, and she was so cooperative, it made the whole task so much easier.

Lydia came early and made a stack of great "Bahn Ni" Vietnamese sandwiches. Theresa and Orla were also a great help as they set up food platters and arrange the food and drinks.
Neil even came over and helped set up the garden, balloons and the inflatable bouncy house in the neighbors garden for the bigger kids. Thanks to Charlie next door for letting us borrow his bouncy house.

Soon the garden was full with friends and many little babies. We even had to dedicate a parking area for strollers, now that's a first.

Our garden is such a beautiful place, and Sadbh seems to like all the vibrant colors. It's a perfect spot to host a homecoming party and for friends to socialize. Sadbh got to meet a few new kids her own age, she's turning into quite the socialite. To her delight, she also received a bunch of huge balloons.

Once the day was done, and we were ready to say good bye to everyone, all of a sudden, a few of our friends cleaned the house and garden allowing Katie and I a chance to relax.

We are so grateful for such great friends and neighbors.

I had a fairly intense dream last night about Sadbh and her vocal cords, at one point in the dream, out of nowhere, all of a sudden I could hear Sadbh's cry's throughout the house. I ran through the house to her room and when I arrived she recognized me and started giggling and making cooing sounds. I awoke moments later and realized that it was only a dream. I know the day will eventually come when we will get to hear her cry's and giggles. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Happy 4th of July,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
