Friday was an exciting day for Sadbh. Around lunch time she and her mummy decided to pay daddy a visit at his office. What a treat it was to bring my little baby into the office and for her to meet all my colleagues. They even got to meet Princess Angry Bird a few times.
It's amazing, the pride that came over me when she came into the building. I just wanted to show her off to everyone.
Katie had dressed Sadbh up in a nice little pink and white polka dot dress for the visit. What Katie did not realize, my companies spokeswoman also wears a pink and white polka dot dress in a few of our marketing campaigns.

Carly should be concerned, there is a new girl in town, and she is so much cuter!
Later that evening, Sadbh, and the rest of us, got to meet the newest addition to the gang, Martin and Aoife's little boy Conor. He is such a cute little guy, and it was great to see the pride both his parents have.
Our replacement, stand in nurse started tonight. She seems quite experienced and gave us a lot of confidence straight away. Despite being very involved in educating new nurses on Sadbh's care, both Katie and I realized that we have to provide new and existing nurses with as much information that we can, and not assume these nurses all have the same knowledge on caring for infants with trachs. For example, we learned during the night that this new nurse was reading the depth measurements on the suction catheter incorrectly, and as a result, she was suctioning a little deeper than she should have been. Simple mistake, and fortunately, no harm done this time. I do have a printed chart next to the suction device with the depth called out, however for some reason, it is not good enough.

I know it's been a while since I've said this, and I am grateful every day, but thank you all for the continuous support. The three of us sincerely appreciate it.
Have a great weekend,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
