Sadbh's update - day 86

Today was an extremely frustrating day for both Katie and I.

It started off quite well with a great visit with her Occupational/Physical Therapist. Sadbh is developing quite well, and we came away with additional pointers fro further development training.

Out next appointment was with Dr. Inglis, the ENT specialist. Long story short, after looking down Sadbh's throat, it does not look like there are any improvements whatsoever.

Honestly, I didn't anticipate that there would be much of an improvement, however after coming away from that meeting, the feeling was almost like we were starting the whole process again from scratch.

From there, things got much worse. While we were in the clinic, we had missed a call from our fantastic nursing agency. Katie had left them a voice mail this morning looking for the schedule for the rest of the week.
Shortly after three this afternoon, we learned that we did not have night nurses to cover tonight, nor the next two nights. What really blows me away is, you would think that this joke of an agency would have the foresight to give us plenty of notice if there were nights that could not be filled.
After a serious arse chewing from me, we were able to get Thursday and Friday covered, however tonight will have to be covered by both Katie and myself.

Since the day we started with this so called agency, it's been nothing but heartache. We even handed them a fantastic nurse on a silver platter over three weeks ago, and because of their bureaucratic red tape, this nurse is still waiting to start working with us. With all the issues that we have been dealing with all along, you would think they speed up the process so we could improve the situation.

We are both exhausted and fed up with the entire situation. Poor Katie got five minutes of bliss today with Sadbh out in the back garden. The rest of the day she was running and racing to get from one appointment to another and dealing with the agency. I don't know where she get's the patience.

In the meantime, we are waiting for the insurance company to get back to us with an update on if we can work with agencies outside of there network.

Take care,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
