Sadbh slept like a log and did not budge until eight.
She wanted Mommy and was a little feisty when I popped into her room. After a
bit of a stand off I presented her with a couple of options, the first was for
her to stick to her grumpy demeanor or to cheer up, give me a hug and start the
day on a happy note.
To my surprise she gave me a huge hug and a kiss.
We had a great day and Sadbh was very excited to see
Ali-Baba around lunch time. We quickly got trach care out of the way and for
the next hour or so Sadbh and Ali-Baba had fun reading, playing and having
lunch.
Later in the day our friend Andrew came by for a
visit. Unfortunately Erin, Andrew’s better half, could not make it as she felt
the beginnings of a possible cold coming on.
Sadbh had been asking me all day if Erin and Andrew
where here yet and when she learned that Erin was not going to be able to make
it she was very sad.
She was quite thrilled when she heard Andrew knocking
at the door and she was even more excited when she received a Christmas gift.
She was meant to place it under the tree for Christmas day but as soon as she
turned the corner we could hear her ripping the wrapping off.
She got a lovely tea set that came with paints for
decorating. She was eager to start customizing her tea set but we managed to
hide the gift and save it for Christmas.
Bedtime was a later than usual as Sadbh was more
interested in playing with Andrew than getting ready for bed.
By nine she was kissing everyone good night and
heading off to bed. Thankfully she was out like a light in no time at all.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
