Sadbh slept well and woke up just before eight.
We had a great morning and since the forecast called
for rain we decided to head out for a walk through the neighborhood before the
bad weather arrived.
For some reason or other Sadbh wanted to be arrested
and locked up in prison while we were out walking. She even walked with her
hands behind her back as if she was handcuffed.
As soon as we got home she asked to be locked in a
cell and waited until Ali-Baba came. All the while I had to pretend to be a
prison guard. It was very funny to play along.
Ali-Baba arrived just as I was getting lunch ready
and Sadbh was delighted. She sat on Ali-Baba’s lap while she ate lunch and once
she was finished we went and did trach care.
Our friend, Orla, stopped for a quick pop in and
Sadbh was excited to see her. We were getting Sadbh ready for bed but she was
more interested in entertaining Orla on how she does yoga, gymnastics and other
distractions.
When we finally were able to persuade her to go to
bed she took her sweet time in going to sleep.
Her new nurse was scheduled to arrive at half past
nine and despite this Sadbh was still wide-awake in the moments before Jirapa
arrived. Thankfully she fell asleep just in time.
Neither of us were interested in training a new nurse
and by the time she arrived we were both very tired.
Sadbh quickly fell into a very deep sleep and her
heart rate was in the mid seventies as we showed Jirapa the ropes.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
