Sadbh slept great and woke up ready to play with her
friends at seven. It was still quiet throughout the house so she had to hang
out with us until everyone else started to get up.
Once up, our friends Emmanuelle and Claudio informed
us that their eldest daughter, Luna, woke up with some congestion. Not being
sure if it was simply sniffles from the air conditioning or the onset of a cold
they figured it was best to let us know, which we appreciated so much.
Unsure of what the prognosis was, we had a discussion
over breakfast with the entire group to figure out the best course of action.
Worst-case scenario, Luna had the beginnings of a
cold and, if so, Sadbh was already exposed since they were playing together
yesterday evening.
Best-case scenario it was a slight sniffle due to
being in an air-conditioned house after spending the last few weeks in very hot
conditions in Seattle.
We decided to wait it out to see how Luna faired
while taking all the necessary precautions.
The day went well and Luna did not have any further
symptoms throughout the day.
We are so lucky to have such an understanding group
of friends. Katie and I also decided that we will probably not go on any group
trips in future as we are sure it puts unnecessary stress and worry on our
friends.
Sadbh and her friends had a great day and she got to
spend an hour or so in the pool. The pool was packed and there was water being
splashed all over the place. I had my work cut out for me trying to keep
Sadbh’s trach dry and it was extremely stressful. The smile on her face made it all worth while.
By bedtime Sadbh was very tired and thankfully she
was asleep much earlier than last night.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian
