Cillian had both Katie and me up for most of the
night but thankfully Sadbh slept soundly and did not wake until 8.
I had gotten up earlier and started to get everything
packaged up for the trip home.
Once Sadbh was awake it was time to break down her
equipment and get that packaged away and into the car.
We managed to get on the road on schedule but had
multiple stops along the way so Sadbh could go potty.
All in all it was an uneventful journey, especially
compared to last year. Suzie even followed us for part of the trip to offer
help if needed. We did not realize this at first and as soon as we found out we
were extremely touched by her thoughtfulness and consideration.
We arrived home in the early afternoon and once the
kids were comfortable in the house I started off loading the car and setting
Sadbh’s equipment up. It took forever.
Once complete it was time for Sadbh and Cillian to
take a bath and then time for Sadbh’s trach care.
Poppy, Katie’s dad, arrived just as we were getting
set up and Sadbh ran to give him a huge hug.
Trach care was quick enough, although poor little
Cillian was extremely tired and screamed at us the whole way through.
Once we were done it was time for dinner and by the
time Sadbh finished it was well past her bedtime.
She was delirious and bounced from wall to wall. Once
in bed it did not take long for her to fall asleep.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian
