As
soon as Katie got into bed last night Sadbh woke up and wanted to climb into
bed with her.
She
tossed and turned all night but she slept in until almost 8.
When
she woke up she could not wait to go check out what Santa brought. As expected
she was very excited and got busy ripping the wrapping paper off of her gifts.
Ali-Baba
and Kirk came by for breakfast and Sadbh showed them her new toys.
We
got to Skype with my family and my sister in law’s family in Cork and we got to
see Sadbh’s little cousin Fionn for the first time. It was a precious and
emotional moment, as we had not yet met Fionn since he was born.
Sadbh
was thrilled to see him and kept saying “Fionn is such a lovely baby” over and
over. I cannot wait for them to meet in person.
It
was bittersweet as we celebrated Fionn’s first Christmas, especially after his
courageous battle for the last 7 months.
We also took time to remember Annabelle, his twin sister who sadly
passed away.
We
had originally planned on going to our friends Theresa and Orla’s for Christmas
dinner with the gang but I have been fighting a cold since last night and in an
effort not to get anyone else sick we decided to cancel.
As
a result we had a quiet family Christmas and spend the day playing with some of
Sadbh’s new board games.
When
it came time for bed tonight Sadbh was utterly exhausted so she fell asleep
shortly after Mommy read a couple of her new books.
All
the best,
Wayne,
Katie and Sadbh.
