Sadbh
woke up bright and early and the first thing out of her mouth was “it’s my
birthday!”
She
had the biggest grin on her face and she could not wait to wake everyone up to
celebrate.
She
had a fantastic day and got to open so many cool gifts. She even read out a
bunch of her cards. Despite the fact that she cannot read yet she did an
amazing job and we were able to catch one on video.
Katie
and Michelle ran into town to pick up Sadbh’s birthday cake while Granddad and
I got trach care out of the way. Sadbh could not wait for Mommy to return with
the cake.
Sadbh
did a great job blowing out the candles and got busy eating the biggest slice
ever.
Thankfully
she did not mind the fact that the baker misspelled her name, however I’m
guessing that she will have to get used to this with a name like hers.
The
rest of the day was spent playing by the rivers edge and burning off some of
the sugar that she consumed.
By
dinnertime she was starting to get tired but wanted to watch a movie before
going to bed. Her new favorite movie is Frozen and even though it was the third
time watching she knew so much of the script already. Very impressive.
I
cannot believe that she has turned three already and it’s impressive to see how
far she has come in that amount of time. She still has a ways to go, especially
with not being able to have her trach capped at night.
Even
though she had a rough start and despite the stress of the last three years,
Katie and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful, amazing and intelligent daughter.
Happy
birthday Sadbh! We love you!
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
