Sadbh was very restless, yet again, so Helen decided
not to cap her trach. This allowed Sadbh the best opportunity to get a good
night sleep and it worked. She woke up shortly after seven because her Oximeter
started to alarm. She was fine and it seems that the probe simply needs to be
changed out.
Sadbh and I had a fantastic day and after an
educational morning we headed up to the park in Madrona. It was packed with
kids and Sadbh had a great time introducing herself and telling people that she
had a trach. Unfortunately, she kept touching her trach especially after
touching all the playground equipment. I suppose it will build up her immune
system, while taking another few years off of my life due to stress.
Sadbh was having a brilliant time but soon we
discovered a kid that had stepped in poop and was trailing it all over the
slides. This was a perfect time for us to exit although it took a while for
Sadbh to understand why.
Eventually after a lot of explaining she got it.
Our friend Neil stopped by for a cup of tea and was
waiting for us when we arrived home. Since he had to wait for a while he
decided to take a nap in his car. Sadbh was very curious about this and
obviously could not understand why someone would nap in their car while
forgetting that she does it all the time.
We got trach care out of the way as soon as we could
this evening and by dinnertime Sadbh was a delirious zombie and really needed
to go to bed. Unfortunately she did not eat much but going to bed was fairly
easy and she was out by eight pm.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
