Sadbh’s update – February 9, 2015

Sadbh woke up just as I was coming down the stairs around seven and as soon as Harjinder unhooked her from her equipment she was out to meet me in the kitchen like a shot.
She was in a fantastic mood and she wanted to help get breakfast ready.

We had a busy day running around taking care of doctor appointments, getting birth certificates, updating social security information and after a while Sadbh started to get very annoyed that we were not spending any time playing or having fun.

We stopped off to get Sadbh a doughnut treat and this tied her over for a while longer. I don’t know if it was the sugar or what but she soon started to have a lot of fun. Katie was looking for a new jacket and Sadbh decided it would be a laugh to play with the mannequin’s. She even started to pose like one.

By the time we arrived home Sadbh was delirious. It had been a long day and she bouncing off the walls like a crazy girl.

Our friend Barry is in town at the moment and he stopped by for dinner. Sadbh was very shy and refused to give him a hug. She did give him a smile however.

Bedtime was easy and Sadbh was asleep in seconds. We removed her trach cap to allow her have a good night sleep.

We received news a couple of hours after Harjinder finished her shift that she will no longer be working with us. The agency has assigned her to another family closer to where she lives. We will miss Harjinder as she was great to work with and Sadbh really liked her.
That said, we seriously feel let down by both she and the agency for pulling our coverage without any notice.
The agency has another potential nurse that they want us to interview Friday morning so it is highly unlikely that we will have any coverage this weekend.

We also received bills from the agency for nursing coverage from almost twelve months ago. It appears that they did not have our insurance details correct in their system so rather than contacting us when the issue arose they decided to wait a year to send us the bills. Thankfully we have three insurance policies for Sadbh so it will be up to them to figure their crap out.

All the best,

Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian
