Sadbh's update - day 34 (5 week birthday)

Hope you all had a great weekend.


There are moments when it's hard to imagine what we have been through for the past five weeks. Yesterday, while having lunch in the family center, I noticed a young couple who just arrived in the NICU, and the look of sorrow and despair on their faces broke my heart. That was Katie and I not that long ago.  


ENT is scheduled to change out Sadbh's trach tomorrow morning around 6am and if everything looks good, she could be moved out of NICU shortly thereafter. 


Our trach maintenance training is scheduled for later in the week, and the care coordinators are working hard with the insurance company to schedule home care nursing. Unfortunately they don't seem to be gaining any traction so far. Hopefully this week they will yield some positive results.
