Sadbh's update - day 35 continued

Today was a big day for Sadbh. She finally got discharged from NICU and is now sharing a double room with another baby with a trach in the recovery ward.

Apparently, she was extremely alert during her trip from NICU to her new digs and she appeared to enjoy the ride.

Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy (OT/PT) came by to test her feeding and she managed to drink 30ml of mother’s milk straight from the bottle. Later on in the evening, she was tested again and passed with flying colours.

While it’s fantastic to see these major improvements, we are reluctant to get overly excited, as we know the next chapter we are now facing will not be an easy one. In order to get Sadbh home, we have to employ the services of home care nurses, however we must first get the approval of our health care insurance companies to do so. And so far, this is proving to be quite the effort. Thankfully we have a dedicated team at Children’s helping us with this and I’m sure we will have some positive results soon.

Thanks again for all the well wishes and prayers!

Take care,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
