Sadbh woke up at 2am and it took Katie almost an hour to get her back to sleep. She slept until 7am, had another snack, and then went back to sleep until 9:45am.
Her secretions require a lot of suctioning this week, so we were up throughout the night suctioning her trach to keep her airway clear.
We think it might be due to her teething and since she is not drooling, she might be swallowing the saliva and it might be coming through her trach.
She had a great morning and devoured a hefty breakfast.
With four of us in the house, she never has to wait for long before someone is ready to play with her. This works great, especially when we want to make sure that she is good and tired when it comes time for trach care.
Her bath was hilarious as she was cracking herself up while checking herself out in the mirror.
When it came time to take a nap, she fell into a deep sleep very quickly and did not budge throughout trach care.
She woke up a few minutes after we were done, so it was then time to get her dressed and then lunch.
Later in the evening, we headed off to meet some of the gang for Sushi in Tangle Town. Sadbh’s friends, Clodagh, Cormac, Dylan and Ixchel.
She was still full of energy when we arrived home, and while Katie and I got all her equipment up, she discovered how to use her car seat as a rocking chair. She had a lot of fun and kept it up so I could take a video.
Just before bed, Sadbh got to Skype with her family in Singapore. Her cousin Liberty made funny faces at Sadbh and kept Sadbh laughing. Meanwhile, Sadbh got to show off some of her new tricks, including standing with no support and blowing kisses.
The excitement of the day wore her out and it did not take long for her to fall asleep.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
