For the first time in over a week,
Sadbh had a wonderful night sleep. She slept like a log and did not have to get
suctioned once. She was so relaxed, her heart even dropped down into the 80’s.
She did have a slight coughing fit
after waking up, and she did throw up a little, but she was in a great mood and
was ready for the day to start.
Destiny was working today and all
three women spent the morning out playing in the back garden.
Ali-Baba stopped by later in the morning
and her timing was perfect. Sadbh was just getting ready for her nap so
Ali-Baba gave her a bath and read to her while drying her off. Before no time,
Sadbh was fast asleep, so Nini and Destiny managed trach care.
Sadbh slept on for an hour after trach
care and was in a very good mood when she woke up.
It was time for lunch and she had a
mighty appetite.
Nini and Destiny also noticed that
Sadbh was making a lot of sounds through her mouth, even without the use of her
Passy Muir Valve.
As a result they tried using the PMV,
however Sadbh did not want to so she pulled it off each time they placed it on
her trach.
It was another beautiful day, so
Sadbh, Nini and Destiny went for a long walk around the neighborhood. Sadbh was
thrilled and really enjoyed being outside again.
Katie and Nini had plans to meet some
friends for a sailing trip this evening, so I got to spend the evening at home
playing with Sadbh.
She was still in a great mood,
despite not having a second nap and she had so much energy.
At one stage I was showing her some
of the videos that Nini shot earlier in the day and she could not stop trying
to kiss herself in the computer monitor. It was so funny.
Later she got a hold of my mobile
phone and she looked like a very busy individual talking on her phone.
It’s amazing how quick kids catch on
to things and how they are to be used.
Sadbh was in bed and out like a light
in no time tonight. She was wrecked tired and fell asleep in my arms as soon as
I had her bundled up in her pajamas.
It seems that she is over the worst
of her cold and cough and is now able to sleep well throughout the night.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
