Sadbh had a perfect night and did not
need any suctioning whatsoever. She was out like a light and did not budge
until 6:15 this morning.
Despite being tired, she was in a
great mood and she really wanted the day to start off quickly.
Breakfast was served while she caught
up on some of her Baby Signing Time’s DVD.
Nadia was working today and as soon
as Sadbh was done feeding, it was time to head out so she could check out
everything from cars to dogs to butterflies and so on. Sadbh was delighted and
after a while she started to get tired.
It was time for trach care and since
she was exhausted, it made the job very easy for Nini and Nadia.
Sadbh slept for almost 3 hours
afterwards and as soon as she woke up she was in a fantastic mood.
After lunch, Nadia helped Sadbh draw
trees, clouds and the sun. Once Sadbh got her hands on the crayons, she
finished it off by drawing what looked like a big storm.
Later in the evening, Sadbh, Katie
and I headed up to Madrona for dinner. We discovered a restaurant with a dining
area out in the back yard and this worked out perfect for the three of us.
Sadbh could not wait for our food to
arrive before digging into her dinner. She found the container with spinach and
took handfuls. It was hilarious to watch.
I’m fully expecting her to turn into
Popeye one of these days with the amount of spinach that she eats.
Sadbh was so flirtatious with
everyone that sat close by and could not stop waving. As soon as someone gave
her any attention, she zeroed in and made every effort to walk over to them.
At one point she impressed Katie and
me by replacing the screw cap for one of her applesauce containers. She even
managed to screw it back on all the way.
She was wiped out by the time she
arrived home and was ready for bed.
We don’t have nurses again until
Sunday night, so hopefully she will sleep well tonight and through the weekend.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
