Sadbh was in a deep sleep when we
headed up to bed last night, but since we have wood floors, the creaking roused
her from her sleep and she started to stand up in her cot.
As soon as I went over to calm her,
she lay back down immediately and seemed to go back to sleep. The minute I
turned my back she was back up standing until I went back to her. Like the
first time, she dropped back down and went back to sleep.
This continued at least 30 more times
and it was like a game of whack a mole. It was hilarious and thankfully Sadbh
eventually gave in and slept right through until 6am.
At that time, she joined us in bed,
quickly nursed and went back to sleep for two more hours.
It was a busy morning around the
house, but Sadbh got to relax and enjoy breakfast with Katie. After Skpying with Nana and Granddad,
she eventually got tired and it was a great opportunity for trach care.
She enjoyed her bath and soon
afterwards she was fast asleep.
Trach care was easy enough, but Sadbh
woke up just as we were securing her trach ties.
Unfortunately she had no more
interest in going back to sleep so it was a good time for lunch.
There have been so many thunderstorms
for the past couple of days and today was no exception.
The weather seemed to clear up
slightly, so we headed out on the lake for a few hours with some friends.
Sadbh was delighted since she got to
hang out with Luna and Cora.
All three girls had a great time and
Luna and Cora got a chance to go for a swim in the water.
Sadbh was very happy looking on, but
you could tell that she was interested in going in herself.
Unfortunately, since she has a trach,
she cannot go into the water, no matter how deep or shallow it is.
Before we knew it, it was already
past 7pm and time to head home.
Sadbh was asleep in no time, and
hopefully she will sleep soundly for the rest of the night.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
