Sadbh
fell asleep with her trach cap and lasted for just over two hours. Helen tried
again a few hours later and she tolerated it for another two hours. She was
definitely working very hard to get air however her sats were perfect all
night. Helen noticed that Sadbh’s lungs contained a lot of secretions and
determined that Sadbh might have some respiratory issue going on that is
causing her to have to work harder to maintain.
She
woke up just before Helen’s shift ended and she was in a very good mood. Unfortunately,
her good mood did not last long and both of us had a challenging day.
By
the time Mommy arrived home from work Sadbh and I were in a much better mood.
We got trach care out of the way as soon as possible and in the evening Sadbh
pretended to be a fairy with wings and I helped her fly a few laps around the
house.
She
was very tired when it came time for bed and fell asleep snuggled up to Mommy
after a short while. Unfortunately she did not want her cap on, however Katie
was able to slip it on as soon as she fell asleep.
All
the best,
Wayne,
Katie and Sadbh.
