Sadbh
woke up around 11pm last night and would not go back to sleep for two and a
half hours. During this time she tried to play Helen but after Helen explained
that she needed to sleep Sadbh started to negotiate. Unfortunately for her the
negotiations did not work and by half past one she was fast asleep.
Despite
the lack of sleep she slept very lightly so Helen did not try to cap her trach.
Sadbh was awake again at 4 and was in and out of sleep until 8.
Surprisingly
she woke up in a very good mood and she had a great morning.
For
the first time in three and a half years Katie was able to get out of town for
a quick holiday with a couple of her friends. Sadbh was sad to see her go but was excited that Ali-Baba was there
to visit her.
Ali-Baba
brought Sadbh a gift of the soundtrack to the movie Frozen, and I can now
honestly say that I have absolutely no chance of escaping this Disney phenomenon.
I don’t know which is worse, Frozen or My Little Pony. At least the restraining
order against Barney is still in effect.
After
Mommy left Sadbh got busy with arts and crafts but it was soon time for trach
care.
Trach
care went well at first but Sadbh made both of us very nervous when she started
to move around. She was very giddy and would not lie still. It took some
patience and some convincing to get her to lie still so we could finish up.
As
soon as Ali-Baba left Sadbh got very tired and asked me to lie down next to her
in her bed. She fell asleep in a matter of minutes and napped for an hour and a
half.
The
rest of the evening was very stressful, as Sadbh would not do anything I asked
of her. It was a while since she had eaten yet she would not eat anything I
made for her.
I
had planned a fun evening for Sadbh that included watching the movie Frozen
with an ice cream treat however she did not get to enjoy any of this, as the
earlier part of the evening was so difficult.
Before
bedtime she did enjoy building a jigsaw puzzle and a couple of books and as
soon as I said it was time for bed she jumped up and ran to her room to get
ready.
Sadbh
did get to Skype with Mommy and enjoyed getting a tour around the resort where
she is staying.
I
was surprised how comfortable she was with Katie being away and how easy it was
putting her to bed tonight.
