Helen was successful in capping Sadbh’s trach for an
hour last night and she took it off when Sadbh reached for it. Sadbh was relaxed the entire time and
was not under any distress. It seems it’s more of a behavioral issue however we
don’t want to force it on her and create a negative experience.
She did not want me in her room when she woke up this
morning but I soon changed her tune by acting all goofy and making her laugh.
It was a very hot and busy day. Sadbh and I spent the
morning out enjoying the beautiful weather in the back garden. We used some of
Sadbh’s chalk to draw her friends and some of the characters from Frozen. Mommy
and Daddy were even represented along the pathway.
Thankfully we have plenty of shade from the trees in
our back yard so I did not have to worry about Sadbh getting sun burnt.
Since it was so hot I figured it would be best not to
go for a walk. That was more of a selfish thought since I knew that I would be
the one doing all the walking while pulling her royal highness along in her red
wagon.
Sadbh couldn’t wait for Mommy to get home from work
and after dinner we took care of trach care.
We usually allow Sadbh to watch ten minutes or so of
her favorite shows on the iPhone during trach care and sometimes she can keep
watching afterwards until the show ends. Tonight we discovered that she has
figured out how to rewind by ten minutes or so just before the show ends so she
gets to watch a lot longer. Cheeky monkey!
Sophia arrives tonight, long after Sadbh goes to bed
and all day Sadbh could not stop talking about waking her up in the morning.
She is so excited and was even practicing what she plans on doing as soon as
she wakes up.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
