Sadbh slept really well sandwiched between Katie and
me. Her mist collar disconnected at some stage throughout the night but we
think it was not disconnected for too long as her airway did not dry out.
As soon as all the kids were up Sadbh and her friends
headed down to the beach. Access to the beach required descending fifty or so
steps so Katie left the wagon at the top and with the help of Sophia and our
friends, Brian & Dee, they took Sadbh and her medical equipment down to the
beach.
Water and sand can be very dangerous for Sadbh and
today Sadbh was surrounded by both. The sand was very fine however it was damp
due to the tide having just gone out so it was relatively safe.
With tight supervision from Mommy and lots of kites
and castles with Brian, Sadbh had the time of her life. She really enjoyed
building sand castles and the freedom of playing on the beach. It was an
experience that she had not encountered before.
When it came time to leave things got very stressful
and Sadbh was getting extremely tired. She did not want to leave and started to
get upset. Brian was quick to help out and was able to calm Sadbh down.
It did not take long to get back to the house and as
soon as we got Sadbh cleaned up it was time for trach care.
Shortly after we finished up our friends Chris and
Ixchel arrived. Sadbh was delighted to see Ixchel and both girls got busy
showing each other their favorite dolls and toys.
Later in the evening we had a BBQ with the rest of
the gang and Sadbh had so much fun with all her friends playing out in the
lawn.
It was a beautiful evening and Sadbh and the kids all
had a great time.
Sadbh went to bed much later than usual tonight as
she was having a ball playing with Ixchel and Sophia.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
