Sadbh would not wear her trach cap for Helen last
night but had a good night nevertheless. She woke up just before Helen’s shift
ended but pretended to sleep even though we knew she was wide-awake.
Sadbh could not wait to wake Sophia up and as soon as
she got out of bed we headed down to Sophia’s room. It was so cute to see Sadbh
poke her head through the door and to see the delight when she laid her eyes on
her big sister.
We had a very busy morning getting ready to head to
the coast for a few days. Both Katie and I started the packing of Sadbh’s
equipment around 6 in the morning and we were ready to hit the road a little
before 3.
We were so lucky to have Sophia here to help keep
Sadbh entertained even though she was exhausted from jet lag.
The three and a half hour drive was fairly boring and
Sadbh fell asleep for the last half hour. When we finally arrived she was over
the moon to see and play with her friends.
All the kids had a later than usual night and Sadbh was
wired to the moon when it came time for bed. It took a while and a lot of
patience to get her settled down but soon she was fast asleep.
Since we are away on holiday without any nurses we
are putting her nighttime trach capping on hold until we get back to Seattle.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
