Sadbh’s update – day 212

Even though Sadbh’s schedule was completely off yesterday, she had a fairly good nights sleep and did not wake up until 3:30am.

Lately Sadbh’s heart rate has been dropping into the 90’s and 80’s when she’s in a deep sleep and since she’s hooked up to the oximeter, this sets off the alarm.
Typically her heart rate bounces back up to the 100’s or 110’s within a few seconds, so there is no major cause for concern.

Since her heart has been dropping so low more frequently, our night nurse did some research and thinks that it’s possibly due to the fact that since she is probably going through a growth spurt, and that it’s normal.

Oddly enough, our day nurse advised us to reset the alarm settings to account for the lower heart rate, however we feel that we should keep the settings as they are until we talk with our pediatrician.

Trach care was relatively straight forward this evening since Sadbh seemed to be back on a normal schedule and was ready for a deep sleep by 5pm.

Soon after Katie got home, Sadbh was awake and ready for dinner. I can’t believe that girls appetite, she’s an animal.

Thanks,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
