Sadbh’s update – day 215

Sadbh was very restless Friday night and into Saturday morning. Katie is a very light sleeper and was suctioning Sadbh’s trach constantly.
Later on, I took over and it seemed like she needed care every twenty minutes or so.
Fortunately all her secretions are normal, and not like the thick plug that Katie removed on Friday morning. It’s just that the frequency of her secretions is much greater than before.

The amazing thing is that despite having to be suction constantly, she is such a happy baby and when she wakes up we always receive the biggest smile ever. Her whole face lights up with excitement and this helps ease the worry and stress of dealing with her persistent need for trach care throughout the night.

Cammy and my father babysat Sadbh for a couple of hours in the early afternoon, allowing both Katie and I to run out to take care of a few errands that needed taking care of.

Shortly after 1pm, Katie’s mum stopped by and while Katie and I made lunch, she and my father managed trach care.
We are seriously fortunate to have such great people willing to help out and give us the chance to get things done.

The afternoon was spent playing with Sadbh and hanging out.

For dinner, I fed Sadbh pureed carrots and she had a great time playing with her food. There was carrots everywhere. In her hair, what little of it she has, in her ears, it was hilarious.

After dinner, it was clean up time and then time for bed and the ending of another great day for our little princess.

Take care,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
