Sadbh slept well for the most part.
She woke up around 3am and just laid there for 20 minutes or so. She was not
hungry and did not need any comforting. Larissa sung Sadbh’s favorite lullaby
and Sadbh drifted off back to sleep until 6:30. It was a quick snack and went
back to sleep 15 minutes later and slept soundly until 7:45.
She must have been dreaming of
practicing her acrobatics since she was all over her cot. At one point, she was
fast asleep on her back with her legs up on the side of the cot.
When she finally got up for
breakfast, she had a huge appetite and ate everything from eggs, to bananas to
yogurt with pears on the side.
It’s incredible how much food that
girl can put away.
Destiny was working today and Sadbh was
excited to get to play with her and Nini.
She had a lot of energy today as she
climbed the stairs, with Nini’s help, four times.
I suppose, after such a large
breakfast, it was good for her to exercise and burn off some of the food.
She showed Destiny how smart she was
when they were looking out the window only to see a plane fly by. Sadbh started
jumping up and down while making the sign for airplane.
She had a very, very long nap today
and after trach care she slept for 3 hours.
Trach care was very straightforward
since Sadbh was in such a deep sleep.
Sadbh had another huge feed once she
woke up and was ready for an afternoon of fun.
A short while after her lunch, Sadbh
needed to be suctioned. After Nini removed her nose to get ready to suction, Sadbh
started coughing hard, and ended up getting sick all over herself.
Thankfully Nini was very quick to
react and managed to roll Sadbh over onto her side so she would not get sick
into her trach and choke.
It was a very stressful moment for
Nini, but Sadbh was fine and according to Destiny, Nini handled the situation
extremely well.
Once she was cleaned up, Sadbh was
ready for another feed and could not wait to start playing again.
The weather was somewhat good, so
they all headed out for a walk. Unfortunately, the weather changed very
quickly, so it was a mad dash back to the house for shelter and some indoor
fun.
Sadbh had another great day and was
full of beans throughout the evening.
