Sadbh slept well in her new sleep
sack until 2ish, and then got very restless and fussy.
After almost an hour of trying to
calm her down, she eventually fell back to sleep with us, until 4.
I woke up to my usual Saturday morning
tapping on the shoulder and big smile from Sadbh.
Just as she finished feeding, Sadbh
turned her bum in my direction and let out a huge fart and immediately started
to giggle afterwards.
Sadbh had a nice big breakfast and
she really enjoys cows milk. So much so that she ended up with a milk mustache
today.
At one stage while she was playing
with her silver cup, she let out another ripper, much to the amusement of
Katie.
Today was a big day for us all as it
was that time in the month to change out Sadbh’s trach with a new one.
We made sure that she had a very
active morning, and when it came time for trach care, she was very tired.
We tried to Skype beforehand with my
parents, however they were away celebrating my cousin Brendan’s 30th
birthday in Longford. Instead, my
father chatted to Sadbh over the phone and Sadbh was thrilled to bits. As soon
as she heard his voice she got the biggest grin on her face. It is hard to deny
the strong bond between those two.
Trach care was very straight forward,
and for the change out, Nini took out the old trach, while Katie inserted the
new one.
Despite having changed Sadbh’s trach
out every month for almost a year not, it is still a very stressful procedure.
That said, Nini did fantastic and we are seriously proud of her.
Sadbh’s stoma looked great and she
barely flinched when the new track was inserted.
Sadbh had a very short nap and as
soon as she was up it was time for food and fun.
Later in the afternoon, Katie, Nini
and Sadbh went for a very long walk to Madison Valley. Sadbh slept for almost
an hour and a half and was nice and relaxed once she arrived home.
It was a lovely evening and Sadbh got
to spend he had a great day and got to check out all the airplanes flying by
overhead.
Sadbh had a wonderful day and we were
relieved once everything went well with her trach change.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
