Sadbh’s update – May 6th, 2012

It was a fairly good night sleep for Sadbh. Both she and her trach mist collar were nice and snug within Sadbh’s sleep sack.
I’m surprised that we did not think of this sooner, but it is a great way to keep her mist collar in place throughout the night.
By 7:30, Sadbh was wide-awake and ready for a full breakfast.

She had a great morning taking turns playing with Katie and myself.
She was starting to get tired shortly after noon, so we gave her a nice relaxing bath and got her ready for trach care.
A few moments after she was bundled up she had nodded off into a deep sleep.
Trach care was very straight forward, but we noticed that her neck had some irritation and sores. Thankfully we manage trach care on a daily basis and were able to treat the sores.
Sadbh woke up as soon as she was done with trach care, so after a quick feeding she got to Skype with my parents and my aunt Doreen.
Sadbh was in her element and happy playing hide and seek.

It was a lovely day, so we headed off to Alki Beach in West Seattle for a walk along the beach.
We were very fortunate to miss the biggest mess ever. As I was off loading the car, one of the biggest seagulls flew overhead and crapped all over everything. The reason I know it was one of the biggest seagulls is because it covered the entire car. It was very impressive, however I doubt I would have been as impressed if it had landed on any one of us, especially Sadbh.

Sadbh was waving and blowing kisses to everyone she passed and since Alki was packed, it took forever for her to get far.
She even stopped off to dance for a busker as he played his guitar.

Later on we headed to Fremont to meet up with Suzie, Derek, Clodagh and Cormac.
There was a food truck rodeo today, so Sadbh got to taste pizza for the first time.
We ended up going for Thai food and we got to sit out on the deck in the sunshine. Sadbh sat next to her fancy man Cormac and they had a great time playing with each other until Sadbh started stealing Cormac’s binky, right out of his mouth.

She had a great evening hanging out with her friends and made it home just in time for her bedtime.

All the best,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
