Sadbh had a good but restless night
sleep, and thanks to Larissa, she slept until 5am.
She was moving a lot throughout the
night, and her secretions were a lot more frequent than usual.
She was sleeping with her bum in the
air.
After breakfast and snuggles with
Katie, she was fast asleep again at 6.
By 8:20 she was wide-awake and ready
for the day to start.
Breakfast did not impress her, and
she was definitely very cranky.
Nadia was working today and was very
helpful in trying to look after Sadbh.
Trach care was very stressful for
Nini and Nadia today. Sadbh woke up as soon as her trach tie was removed. She
was very upset, and Nini had to do her best to keep her calm and from decannulating
herself.
Both Nini and Nadia worked quickly
and managed to get Sadbh’s neck cleaned and her trach secured.
Sadbh was very unhappy and was in a
lot of distress. Since her heart rate was normal, as was her temperature, we
are hopeful that she is not getting sick.
After talking with Katie, Nini gave
Sadbh some Tylenol and after a short while, Sadbh fell asleep.
An hour and a half later, Sadbh woke
up and was in a much better mood.
It was time to fill her belly and
then time to catch up on playing with her toys.
She was in good spirits for the rest
of the evening, and was over the moon when Katie arrived home from work.
Sadbh does not have nurses until
Monday morning, so she will be sleeping upstairs with us for the next few days.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
