Sadbh slept right through until 5am.
After breakfast, a nappy change and a snuggle with mummy, it was time to go
back to bed where she slept until 7:30.
Sadbh had a rather large breakfast
and made a huge mess. There was egg and cereal all over the place and even the
floor needed a good scrubbing afterwards.
She was quite fussy today and her
heart rate was slightly higher than normal. Thankfully her temperature was
fine, so we think it might be a new tooth coming in.
Ali-Baba stopped by to play with
Sadbh for a while today and brought her a “Dora the explorer” handbag that used
to belong to Sadbh’s cousin Lulu. Sadbh was thrilled and impressed everyone by
wearing it like an adult. She knew exactly how to carry it, which is kind of
scary.
She had an exciting morning and was
exhausted tired when it came time for her nap and trach care.
Trach care was managed easily since
she was in such a deep sleep and Sadbh slept for an hour afterwards.
Not only was she fussy with what she
did today, she was extremely fussy when it came to what she ate. Nini had her
work cut out for her when trying to feed Sadbh and had to get very creative in
order to get Sadbh to finish her lunch.
Katie and I bought Sadbh an
inflatable horse called Rody for her birthday, and she has not really liked it
since we gave it to her. Today Nini and Destiny watched Sadbh climb on top of
Rody and riding him with a huge smile on her face.
The weather was much better than
yesterday, so Nini and Destiny bundled Sadbh up and they all went for a nice
long walk.
Sadbh was pointing and signing
airplane every time one flew by.
She eventually got tired and slept
for almost an hour.
Sadbh’s evening was spent playing and
having fun with Nini and myself. At times she got very cranky when she did not
get her way and worked hard to push everyone’s buttons.
When it came time for bed, she was
exhausted and completely wired. I had to work to get her to sleep and as soon
as I felt like I had succeeded, she woke up and got very upset.
Despite holding her close to try and
comfort her, she was very restless and tried to get out of my arms as much as
possible.
All of a sudden, she left out a huge
fart and you could tell that she felt instant relief. As our friend Gerry would
say, “Better out than in, nothing worse than a bad tenant”. I think Sadbh felt
the same way.
I laid her down on her bed and she
curled up facing down and drifted off to sleep.
Hopefully she will have a good night
sleep and will feel much better tomorrow.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
