Sadbh slept great and woke up shortly after Kim left.
She was in a great mood and was eager to go see Mommy as soon as she was
unhooked from all her equipment.
After breakfast we had to run a few errands and Sadbh
kept telling me to hurry up as I had promised to bring her to the park as a
treat. She was very patient and eventually we arrived at the park at Madrona.
For the next couple of hours Sadbh had a fantastic
time. She even met a couple of new friends. They were twins, Henry and Olive
and they were about the same age as Sadbh. I think Sadbh took a shine to Henry
as both of them hung out and shared stories with each other. Henry was curious
about the thing around Sadbh’s neck and she had no problem telling him all about
it. She even told him about her recent visit with Dr. Inglis and what he stuck
up her nose.
At one point the two kids started to compare scars
and battle wounds and Sadbh explained how she was once walking along Alki Beach
with her big sister, Sophia, and she tripped over Sophia’s foot and hurt her
leg.
Later they got into a conversation about the movie
Frozen, which seems to be a favorite of Henry’s also and when Sadbh told him
that she watched it every night, Henry replied that he watched it every day.
Sadbh was not being very truthful as she really only get’s to watch it once
every couple of weeks at most.
When it came time to leave the park Sadbh was sad to
say good-bye. She and Henry tried to make a date for another visit at the park
and Henry declared that he would be there in five days. Need to mark that on
the calendar.
Once home it was time for a bath and lunch. Sadbh was
still in a great mood and ready to read a bunch of her favorite books.
We had a fun afternoon.
Once Mommy arrived home it was time for dinner, trach
care and a walk through the neighborhood. Sadbh was motivated to gobble down
her dinner as she knew that ice cream was on the cards if we were to head out
for a walk.
On the way home she took a fall and hurt her hands
and knees. They were very minor,
but she was so upset and it took ages and a couple of bandages to get her
calmed down.
Thankfully she fell asleep very quickly tonight.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
