Sadbh was up very early this morning, around 6:50am. When Katie went down to take over from
the nurse she was very happy sitting in the nurse’s lap watching Bollywood
cartoons. It must be such a strange feeling to wake up with a complete stranger
sitting in your room looking after you. Thankfully Sadbh is easy going and
quick to make friends.
We had a lazy morning playing around the house and
after lunch we got Sadbh ready for trach care and her monthly trach change.
Earlier in the week I bought a couple of new ponies for her as an incentive for
her corporation with her trach change. She was excited at first when she
discovered what she was getting but soon she got very apprehensive and would
not open up her neck enough to allow us to make the change.
Eventually I held her head back enough and was able
to insert the new trach without any issues and Sadbh spent the evening
introducing her two new ponies to the rest of her ponies. The collection is
getting alarmingly big.
Later, we went out for dinner, came home to play a
bit more with all of her ponies and then it was off to sleep. Hopefully she’ll have a good night and
sleep in a bit later tomorrow morning.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh
