Sadbh had a very restless night, but slept right through until 5am. It was a much better night than the one before, and it also allowed Katie to get a solid night sleep.
Katie was back in the office today, so Peggy and Su Jin took care of Sadbh in her absence. Sadbh got to Skype with Katie, and even told Katie that she loved her with the use of baby sign.
When Sadbh breastfeeds, she typically has her binky in one hand and in-between feedings, she will kick back, pop the binky in her mouth and take a break. When she’s ready for more food, she removes the binky and latches back with Katie. It’s very entertaining to watch, and today while Su Jin was feeding her a bottle, Sadbh decided that she wanted to feed herself, and carried out the same procedure. At one point, she tried to drink from the bottle, while she had the binky in her mouth at the same time. I wish I had a photo of that.
Overall she had a great day, however her heart rate was a lot higher than usual. She doesn’t have a temperature and she was not fussy whatsoever, but we are going to keep a close eye on her to make sure that all is ok.
Since we will not have nurse care for the next three days, I moved all her equipment up to our room this evening and hopefully I will get a snuggle with her before I head off to work in the morning.
I know Katie is looking forward to her snuggle with Sadbh in the morning.
