As Sadbh was about to go to sleep
last night, she looked around her crib and realized that several of her friends
needed to go to sleep first. With
this in mind, she grabbed her little sheep blanket and placed it on her Sleep
Sheep, her First Doll, her Spud Monkey and her Winnie the Poo, gave them all
kisses, put her hand to her face to make the baby sign for sleep and then waved
goodnight. It was the cutest thing
ever.
It was a windy night last night and
the sounds of the trees brushing up against the house kept Sadbh from having a
completely restful night. That said, she did sleep right through and did not
wake until after 6. After a very quick snack, she was back to sleep until
almost 9am.
She was starving when she finally
woke up and had a huge breakfast.
Destiny was working again today, so
Sadbh had good company while she ate breakfast and watched her baby signing
DVD.
Later in the morning, Ali-Baba popped
in to hang out and Sadbh was over the moon. Ali-Baba even helped Sadbh open the
packaging for one of her new toys. Sadbh was thrilled with her new Turtle Lawn
Mower and I am delighted, as she will now get to start practicing on how to mow
the grass in the back yard.
Sadbh had a fun filled morning and
was very tired when it came to trach care.
Everything went well and she slept
for almost an hour and a half after.
Her afternoon was filled with fun,
but she was very reluctant to take another nap.
When I arrived home from work, I
could see in Nini’s face that she was exhausted tired and she looked very sad.
It was quite obvious that Nini was homesick for her family and friends, and
since she does not have many people her own age here to socialize with, it
makes it that much tougher.
Sadbh picked up on Nini’s sadness and
tried her hardest to make her smile.
To help pick up her spirits, we
brought Nini out to one of her favorite restaurants and it turns out that this
is one of Sadbh’s favorites also.
Sadbh was full of beans and could not
stop moving around in her high chair to check everything out. Every time she
caught someone’s attention she would flirt like crazy. She had a great evening
and by the time she arrived home, she was ready for bed.
Sadbh had another fantastic day, and
this has a lot to do with Nini. We are so grateful for everything she does for
our little princess and we appreciate the huge sacrifice that she has made.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
