Sadbh moved up with us last night
since she did not have a night nurse and, as expected, she had a terrible night
sleep. She was up every hour or so and needed to be suctioned every time. At
one point we had to change all her clothes since she was sweating so much.
She finally woke up at 7:30 and was
ready for her breakfast. Thankfully she was in a great mood.
She learned the baby signs for grumpy
and surprised today and impressed Su Jin who was working for the first time in
ages.
Sadbh grabbed Su Jin’s hand and
walked around showing her new toys.
It has been over a month since Su Jin
has worked with Sadbh and she was impressed with her development.
It was a gorgeous day, so the ladies
headed out into the neighborhood for a walk. They kept circling the close by so
as not to be too far from the house so they could be near when Sadbh got tired
for trach care. It kind of worked, but they had to work hard to keep her awake
as they rushed home. They both received a lot of odd looks from passerby’s, but
they managed to get home and got Sadbh ready for her bath and then trach care.
Unfortunately she was overly tired
and it took Nini almost 40 minutes to get her to sleep. Once she was out, trach
care was very straightforward and she slept on for an hour.
She had a huge lunch and as soon as
she was done they all headed out for another long walk. This time they headed
towards Madison and Sadbh was mad flirting with all the men she passed.
Her evening was full of fun, but because
she did not have her second nap, she got very cranky and fussy.
The whole evening she only wanted to
be with Katie and cried every time Katie stepped out of sight.
We anticipated that bedtime was going
to be very difficult and it definitely started off that way, but within a
minute or two, she was out cold in Katie’s arms.
