Sadbh slept great until 2:30 when she
woke up very upset. Larissa worked her magic and got her back to sleep within 8
minutes.
Sadbh’s secretions have intensified
since she received her new pediatric trach last Saturday and we believe it is a
result of the longer tube irritating her airway.
Larissa had to suction at least 5
times through the night, where typically she only has to suction once or twice.
Nini was working early this morning
and took care of Sadbh at 6:15. Sadbh was hungry for a bottle and Nini could
tell that she was still very tired.
Eventually Sadbh fell back to sleep
around 7:15 and was out for the count for an hour and a half.
Sadbh was hungry when she woke up, so
Nini prepared a nice big breakfast for her.
Nadia was working today and Sadbh was
delighted to see her.
As soon as breakfast was finished, it
was time to play and learn a few more baby signs. Nadia is great as she tries
to teach Sadbh as much as possible, so today Sadbh learned the sign for cheese,
open and close.
It was an exciting morning and when
it came time for track care, Sadbh was ready.
Trach care was quite tense as Sadbh
was very fussy and kept moving from side to side. Nini is great and was able to
keep control of the situation, however, this can be a very scary experience and
it is exhausting.
As Sadbh slept on after trach care,
Nini noticed on the video monitor that she suddenly arched her back and started
to silently scream. Nini ran in to see if she was ok and at that moment, Sadbh
started to wake up and gave Nini a huge smile.
I’m sure she was having a nightmare
and once she woke up to see Nini looking after her, she was quite relieved.
Sadbh’s evening was full of fun and
games with her three cousins from Singapore. Liberty, Belle-Rose and Trinity
were all so excited to play with their little cousin. It was a great evening
hanging out and Sadbh was not ready for bed until almost 10pm, two hours after
her regular bedtime.
Two weeks until the High Five Sadbh
Guild kickoff event and I hope as many people as possible can attend.
Details can be found here. Please spread the word.
Thank you,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
