Sadbh slept a lot better last night and seems to be over her coughing fits.
Around 3am, she woke up and appeared to be in a lot of distress. We think it was her teeth that were giving her bother, and it took an hour or so to get her back to sleep.
Around 5, she was awake again, but this time she was in the mood for breakfast. Each time she awoke, she had a ferocious appetite.
By 7am, she was wide-awake and wanted to play. She was relentless and even though both Katie and my eyes were literally hanging out of our heads, she was adamant to start the day’s activities.
As soon as she arrived downstairs, it was breakfast with Granddad and Nana, and a day full of fun.
Trach care was quick and easy today since she was very tired, however as soon as Katie and Nini were finished, Sadbh woke up and was ready for more fun.
Seeing that it was such a beautiful day, my parents brought Sadbh off for a nice walk up through the neighborhood and through the Seattle University campus. We were hoping that Sadbh would nod off to sleep for her evening nap, but she was too interested in what was going on around her to sleep.
She was in for a treat when she arrived home as Katie’s father, Poppy had arrive back from a road trip to Lake Chelan.
She was cautious at first, but soon warmed to Howard’s charms. Within moments, they were both making faces at each other and having a ball.
Just before bedtime, we tried out her PMV and she tolerated it for almost 5 minutes. She definitely was not as comfortable with it as she was earlier in the week, but that might be due to the fact that she was tired and ready for bed.
Bedtime came a little later than usual, but she had no problem falling to sleep.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
