Sadbh’s update – April 5th, 2012

Sadbh slept very well last night, and did not wake until 5:45am. Thankfully her heart rate and temperature returned to its normal level.
She was very gassy again, and occasionally stank out the room. This is not a good sign as she has moved upstairs with us tonight.

Kara was working today, and Sadbh had a great day playing with everyone.
Even Ali-Baba stopped by to join in on the fun.

Sadbh was working hard to show everyone how good she is getting at standing by herself, and her confidence is also coming through strong.
She also showed everyone how good she is at working on speech development, despite not wearing the PMV.
The fact that she can control the airflow out through her mouth, without using the valve, is amazing.

Sadbh had her first Starbucks, even though the cup was empty.

Shortly after I arrived home, Sadbh was showing how good she was at standing by herself, and when she was done she got down on her knees to play.
I asked her to stand back up and show me how good she could stand and she looked at me with a look of understanding, and did it. Needless to say, we were all shocked and impressed to see how she understood what I was asking her to do.

After Katie arrived home, we got to try out the modified PMV, and Sadbh was very happy making sounds as she played. We eventually tried the non-modified PMV and she showed signs of discomfort. She did a lot better than earlier in the week, and we believe she will do better in time with practice.

All the best,

Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
